What's happening in Bristol

Bristol libraries are well-loved and highly valued by those that use them, people see them as a symbol of their community.

But, did you know that only 6% of Bristol citizens use the lending service regularly? We want our library service to be useful for everyone.

Bristol, like every other local authority, must provide a library service based on the needs of the community.

What we provide in many of our libraries now is not necessarily relevant to the vast majority of our citizens. We want libraries to respond to the needs of more of our citizens, particularly those who experience challenges and have less access to opportunities. So we need to find out what our communities want and need from libraries. We also want to spot opportunities with partners and communities for developing new approaches.
